After the deadly typhoon Sendong that devastated Cagayan De Oro (CDO) on Dec. 16, 2011, the typhoon didn’t just leave so many people dead, missing, and homeless. Indo Asian News Service reports that five people were dead and 200 others were diagnosed with leptospirosis in CDO. Leptospirosis is an infection that is commonly caused by contact of the skin (broken skin, wound, eyes) with contaminated water (animal urine such as rats).
